Flaxseed oil is naturally very high in Omega-3 called alpha-linolenic, which is one of three essential fatty acids that your horse needs and cannot produce for himself.

Omega-3 is needed by body cells to maintain a flexible membrane thus receiving nutrients easily.
Your horse can use alpha-linolenic to obtain the other vital Omega-3 fatty acids that it requires.
